10 students of our school have spent 5 days in Valls to develop a Robotics project with the students of the High School Narcis Oller in Valls, Spain.

Day 1 · Travelling to Valls
We left Spadafora at 12.00 to fly from Catania Airport to Barcelona. We arrived in Barcelona at 18.30 and after one hour trip by bus we finally got to Valls, where we met our host mates.

Day 2 - Welcome to the school
At 8.10 we have been welcomed by the Spanish teachers, who have shown us the week program and the school.

Day 2 · Robotics project
The heart of our Erasmus mobility is represented by the robotics project to develop by this week. Divided in 3 mixed groups we have started to plan a domotic project using Arduino and different sensors.

Each group has to think about a way to save energy at home with the help of sensors to perceive temperature, light, humidity, etc.

Day 2 - Going round Valls
After that, we went to the centre of Valls to take a first walk around, to discover its beauties and traditions that are mainly linked to human towers.

Day 3 · Homo ludens
We have started the day with a guided visit to the exhibition Homo Ludens in Tarragona to be aware of the advantages and the disadvantages of gaming in our lives.

Day 3 · Tarragona
We have spent the rest of the day in Tarragona to visit the historical and cultural attractions of this city that is one of Unesco World Heritage Sites.

We have visited Tarragona the day they celebrate the Patron Saint San Jordi. It is traditionally known as "el dia de la rosa y del llibre".

Day 4 · Robotics project and visit to the Jaume Huguet High School
After working to the robotics project for two hours, we moved to Jaume Huguet High School where we learnt the basics to program robots in order to complete specific tasks.

Day 4 - cooking workshop
To take a break from screens our ICT teacher organised a cooking workshop to teach us how to cook the typical tortilla.

Day 5 - Barcelona
Our day in Barcelona started with the visit to the Cosmo Caixa Science Museum. It's in interactive space where you can learn about important physical phenomena by simply experiencing them.

A guide introduced us to the different steps in human evolution since the creation of the Universe till the last scientific discoveries in the field of medicine and technology.

Day 5 - Barcelona city centre
After the museum we paid a visit to the most emblematic places of the city expecially those linked to the famous artist Gaudi'.

Day 6 - Robotics project
We have worked to the project for the last two hours to complete the code and the document. After that, each group has introduced the project to the other students.

Day 6 - Museu Casteller
Later we paid a visit to the Museum of human towers of Valls. This is a very ancient Catalan tradition and we have learnt about its origins, main features but we also had a lot of fun trying it.

Day 6 - Farewell dinner
At 8,00 p.m. we all met at the school canteen to stay together and celebrate. It has been a week full of activities, amazing experiences and new friendships.

It's time to say goodbye with the promise to meet in October in Sicily. We are looking forward to seeing you again, Catalan guys!!
