She became pregnant with Tupac while out on bail, and she was acquitted in 1971 after defending herself in court.
TUPAC''S NAME
When Lesane was 1 year old, Afeni changed his name to Tupac Amaru in honor of a Peruvian revolutionary killed by the Spanish. He said of the name: “I wanted it to be named after revolutionary indigenous peoples around the world. I wanted him to know that he was part of a global culture and not just a neighborhood”.Tupac later took the surname from his sister Sekyiwa father, another Black Panther named Mutulu Shakur. Tupac also had a half-brother, Mopreme.

They arranged to meet again a few days later, at the end of one of his concerts, in his hotel. The next day the woman said that Tupac and other men on his staff had repeatedly raped her.
