Valley
An area of low land between hills or mountains. They take the form of a "U".
Hills
A rounded area of land that is higher than the land around it but that is not as hight as a mountain.
Mountains
Landform that rises high above its surroundings. Taller than a hill, it usually has steep slopes and a rounded or sharp peak.
Canyon
A deep valley with steep cliff walls. Often a river runs through it. The most famous is the Grnad Canyon in Arizona.
Island
Land area surrounded entirely by water. Some islands can be man-made.
