FOR YOU MISS

-His real name was Eric Blair and he adopted the pseudonym George Orwell in 1933 -He was spied on by the British government during the Spanish Civil War, where he fought fascism -He had difficulty publishing 'Animal Farm', a satire of Stalinism, because of censorship and lack of interest from publishers -Ernest Hemingway gave him a pistol to defend himself from possible attacks by the communists -He was a friend of Aldous Huxley, author of 'Brave New World', another novel

In general, all his work, including this first stage and others, reflected his political and moral positions, as they emphasized the struggle of man against the social rules established by political power. His most popular titles are Animal Farm (1945) and 1984 (1949), fictions in which he depicted a new type of society controlled totalitarianly by bureaucratic and political methods. Like Aldous Huxley's Brave New World (1932) or Fahrenheit 451

His experiences as a collaborator with the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War (Orwell was a socialist) were collected in his interesting book Homage to Catalonia (1938)

It is a book with George Orwell's personal account of his experience during the Spanish Civil War, written in the first person. The first edition was published in 1938. Orwell served as a private and as an officer in parts of Catalonia and Aragon from December 1936 to June 1937.

When, after the events of May 1937, the political party in which he was a member (the POUM, an anti-Stalinist communist party led by Andreu Nin) was declared an illegal organization and he was forced to flee or face imprisonment.

Orwell arrived in Barcelona on December 26, 1936 with a letter of introduction from the Independent Labour Party and that same day he enlisted and was assigned as a militiaman to the Trotskyist-oriented POUM party. He was fascinated by the panorama he encountered: "It was the first time I had set foot in a city where the workers were in charge," he said.

At the beginning of 1937, the Englishman marched to the front in Aragon and fought in the Sierra de Alcubierre in Huesca. He did so through the region of Los Monegros, the natural border between the provinces of Huesca and Zaragoza. Orwell fought in his trenches, located on the Irazo and Pucero mountains.
