His real name was Bartholomew Roberts, but he became known as Black Bart because of his dark hair and ferocious reputation. He was born in 1682 in Wales. Black Bart was intelligent and brave and loved adventures in the sea. He captured over 400 ships during his career. Blackbeard was scary and intimidating. Blackbeard was known for his long black beard. Black Bart's ship was called the Royal Fortune. He wore a tricorn hat and just like Blackbeard, he had multiple pistols and knives.
