patch
The birth control patch is a thin, beige, 1¾-inch (4½-centimeter) square patch that sticks to the skin. It releases hormones through the skin into the bloodstream to prevent pregnancy.
iud
The IUD is a device that releases ions that immobilize the sperm but does not prevent an egg from being released each month.
injectable
This method is very simple to use, because it is only an injection, it contains progesterone, an hormone that makes the body thinks it is pregnant, this produces the ovaries to stop produciong evules and thinkens carvical mucus.
sterilization
Male sterilization consist in cutting the vas deferens of the man, which are two tubes that carry sperm
Female sterilization consist in cutting or tiding a segment of Falopian tubes, to stop the ovules from passing through.
pill
The pill is an hormonal contraceptive method. The main purpose is to reduce or stop ovulation. This method creates a barrier to prevent sperm from traspassing the uterus.
Ring
It stops the ovaries from releasing an egg each month with a combination of ethinyl estradiol and a progestin. It is placed inside the vagina for the body to absorb the hormones.
Condom
The male condom covers the penis to collect sperm and prevent it from entering the woman's body. Male condoms are generally made of latex or polyurethanen. They are very common because they can also prevent STD's.
Female Condom
The female condom is inserted into the woman's vagina before intercourse to prevent sperm from entering the uterus and therefore prevent pregnancy. The female condom can also prevent STDs.
diaphragm
The diaphragm is a flexible cup made of latex or soft rubber. It is inserted into the vagina before intercourse, this blocks the sperm from entering to the vagina. Spermicidal cream or jelly should be used with a diaphragm.
