This agency was created 65 years ago, the 29th of July 1958 by David Dwight Eisenhower who served as the 34th president of the United States. Welcome to this Genially Miss ! The Foundation of NASA's Agency

On October 1st 1958, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration officially began operations. The President Dwight David Eisenhower created NASA to lead America’s civilian space program in response to Soviet advances in space exploration. Keith Glennan and Hugh Dryden were sworn in as NASA’s first administrator and deputy administrator.
The new agency incorporated the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), founded in 1915 to advance aeronautics research in the United States. That included three large research laboratories and two small test facilities. Some days after the opening, NASA began work on America’s first human spaceflight program.
