Introduction
Before you signal to start the exam, you need to read the introdcution script prepared by the AP. Be calm and professional. Each exam will have a slightly different script, but they all follow the same format.

- Bring all necessary materials to the exam room.
Proctor Duties:Before Testing
- Count and check the exams received for the exam administration upon entering the room.
- Ensure you have 1 AP ID label sheet for each student who will be testing.
- Admit and assign seats to students, fill in the seating chart.
- Ensure the exam room is set up appropriately with space between seats.

- Distribute exam materials to the students.
Proctor Duties: During Testing
- From 2023-2024 Exam Instuctions read the General Instructions and the Instructions for the test being given.
- Ensure students correctly complete the identification information on the front of their answer sheets.
- Note and post the start and stop times for each section.
- Supervise the testing room at all times, including during break times.
- Fill in the seating chart provided.
- Walk around the room and ensure students are using the answer sheets correctly.
- Never eat, drink, engage in conversation, correct the papers, use a computer, laptop or phone during the exam administration.

Proctor Duties: After Testing
- Before dismissing students:
- Collect and account for all exam materials.
- Ensure students properly identified their materials with their AP ID Labels.
- Dismiss the students, make sure they take no exam materials out with them. Students should be dismissed at the same time.
- Return all exam materials to the secure storage room for the AP coordinator.

Each student has their own label with their unique AP ID. Be aware of where these labels should be applied on the exams and ensure they are correctly placed by students

Room Set-Up For AP Exams
Seating Chart
Before the test can start, the room should be correctly set up: - Ensure you have the correct testing materials.
- Ensure you have needed testing supplies.
- Correct adherence to AP Seating Policies.
- Proper number of tables and chairs.
- Students are no less than 5 feet apart.
- All desks are facing the same direction.

Checking Students In
Current Roster
Once you've determined it is time to start, secure the room. Proper check-in procedures include:
- Proctor arrives at indicated time in schedule
- Proctor marks the roster accordingly
- Proctor assigns students seats
- Proctor completes seating chart
- Ensure students have only allowed materials.
- Collect Cell Phones and other electronic devices.

Know the difference between the general and specific instructions, and know when to read each set of instructions.*All subjects need to begin with General Exam Instructions. Start Subject specific instructions only within the allowed time-frame.
Follow the instructions as written.
