6 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Enrollment/Materials 1-844-590-2864

Yes. CCA is a Pennsylvania public school, and our curriculum meets state core standards. Additionally, CCA has a personalized core curriculum that’s accredited by the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA), which means CCA provides a high-quality education that is reciprocal with other schools. The performance standards by which CCA is evaluated are research-based and examine the curriculum holistically. The accreditation takes into account more than just student test scores. The 12 major areas that make up the Standards of Accreditation include:

  • Mission
  • Governance and leadership
  • School improvement planning
  • Finances
  • Facilities
  • School organization and staff
  • Health and safety
  • Educational program
  • Assessment and evidence of student learning
  • Student services
  • Student life and activities
  • Information resources

If a learner wishes to participate in extracurricular activities offered by their district of residence and not offered by the charter school, the Pennsylvania charter school law requires that the district provide the student with an opportunity to participate. Individual Counseling

Students and caretakers can contact their counselor anytime with personal, social, or career questions! We can provide a variety of tools to help students achieve their goals. We can provide brief, short-term counseling (5-6 sessions). If therapeutic services are needed, we can refer to outside services.

Attendance

A learner is marked “Present” each school day they log in to edio between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. EST. Learners who do not log in to edio on a school day receive an unexcused absence.

Help your student(s) stay on track this school year by ensuring they log in every school day! If they miss a login, please log in to your edio caretaker account to submit an absence excuse! Click the link below to watch a short video on how to log in to edio and submit an absence excuse. If you cannot log in or are having technical difficulties, please call CCA’s Tech Support Center at 833-204-2221 for assistance.

Virtual Recess

This time is for learners to socialize with each other in a controlled and monitored setting. There will be time for learners to chat with each other and participate in games or activities facilitated by one of the School Counselors, according to grade. It is a time for learners to have fun, socialize, and practice social skills.

*Please be sure to continue to read the monthly counselors' newsletter for future announcements on groups*

Small Group Counseling

The elementary school counselors run small groups with 6 to 10 students on various topics as an intervention for certain students. Small groups allow students to relate, learn, and develop positive relationships with other students who may be struggling with the same issues. Past small group topics included self-regulation, coping skills, self-esteem, and grief.

Please contact your child(ren's) teachers. They will be more than happy to assist!

Drop-in Days

These drop-in days will be large group lessons on social, emotional, and career readiness topics.

Throughout the school year, the counselors will facilitate "Drop-in Days" that can be added to your learner's Edio calendars during small group times.
