Project Development
Wanderlust (PBL)
Students created their project featuring the parallel and perpendicular lines of a road map.
Solving for parallel and perpendicular lines of an actual road map.
Lessons
Standard
Prerequisite lessons before the students started the project.
Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
Project Presentation
Students presented their project in class.
Project Presentation
The students presented their output in which they had a gallery walk. They were able to see each other's output and gained some information about other places.
Standard
CCSS.Math.Content.HSA-CED.A.2 - Create equations in two or more variables to represent relationships between quantities; graph equations on coordinate axes with labels and scales.
The Adventure Starts!
- The students chose their desired destination for travel.
- They then created a map where parallel and perpendicular lines.
- The students placed the road map in the cartesian plane.
- The students showed that the roads are either parallel or perpendicular.
Prerequisite Lessons
Investigated and explored parallel and perpendicular lines.
- Equations of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines;
- Writing Equations of Parallel Lines; and
- Graphs of Linear Functions
