His Childhood

Lionel Messi's childhood story is incredible. He was born in Argentina in 1987 and always loved football. He grew up in a neighborhood in Rosario and started playing football when he was 3 years old. Despite his short stature due a hormonal deficiency, he kept playing and getting better. At 8 years old, he joined the youth team of Newell's Old Boys in Argentina. Then, when he was 13, Barcelona offered to pay for his medical treatment and gave a scholarship to his family to move to Spain. From there, his career has a lot of success, and now he's considered one of the greatest football players of all time. His story shows that with dedication and talent, you can surpasseven the biggest challenges.

His career

Lionel Messi's career after moving to Spain was amazing and full of successes. He's actually the player with the most trophies in the world (44). With Barcelona, he won many titles including La Liga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey. He's also the player with the most individual awards. After spending most of his career with Barcelona, Lionel Messi left the club in 2021 to join Paris Saint-Germain in France. His transfer was one of the biggest in football history because Messi left Barcelona after more than 20 years. Messi continued to show his incredible talent even after changing team. Now Lionel Messi plays for Inter Miami, a famous team in America. The level of competition in this league is lower, but he made this move because of family reasons and for his age.

HIS FOUNDATION

Lionel Messi did fantastic things during his career. One of these, is when he created the Leo Messi Foundation in 2007 with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo. They met as children and he growed up together in Rosario. Their relationship began when they were teenagers and they got married in 2017. This group helps kids who don't have much money, they give them medical care, education, and chances to play sports. Messi really cares about helping these kids and making their lives better. His foundation achieved important results, showing that Messi is not only a great football player but also a kind person with a big heart and compassion.

THE OLYMPICS

Lionel Messi won't play in the 2024 Olympics because he's 36 and wants to avoid injuries. But he already played in the 2008 and 2016 Olympics for Argentina. In both, Argentina won gold medal in men's football, and Messi played a big part in that success. Messi also did well with the Argentina national team. Even though people used to criticize him for not winning big trophies with his country, he broke that streak in 2021 winning the Copa America, and in 2022 the World Cup with Argentina.
