History of Montessori method
Maria Montessoi was an Italian physician and educator who came up with what is now known as the Montessori method. Montessori established a childrens house, which was basically a school within a house, for poor children in Rome, Italy during the early 20th century.
Positive transformation in the children began to gain attention throughout Europe and people began to study Montessori's methodology. Was not widely implemented in the U.S until the 1950's

Montessori
Children are free to explore and learn within the limits of a prepared environment.
Over time children begin to gain self-descipline on their own.
Overview
Children are capable of integrating aspects of the world around them through the use of their senses.
Children are free to explore and learn at the same time in the hopes that they will learn fundamental life skills that will create responsible adults with a love for learning
Childrens environment should be carefully constructed to allow students to sense their learning with materials and tangible objects. Teachers play the role of a facilitator to the children.
