Becomes an associate professor at the University of Zurich.

General relativity is experimentally confirmed during a solar eclipse.
Receives the Nobel Prize in Physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect.

Emigrates to the United States due to increasing persecution of Jews in Germany.
