9/11/2001

September 11th 2001, 8:46 am, five hijackers intentionally crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into the northern facade of the North tower. At 9:03 am, an another group of hijackers intentionally crashed United Airlines Flight 175 into the southern facade of the South Tower. After burning for 56 minutes, the South tower collapsed at 9: 59 am. At 10:28 am, the North tower collapsed after burning for 102 minutes. The terrorist attack killed 2,999 peoples. It wasn't just workers who worked in towers, they were children, firefighters, policeman, passer by passing in the street, mums and dads, passengers, hijackers, paramedics and dogs...

The Tribute in Light consists of two massive pools built in footprints of the Twin Towers with 9,1m waterfalls who fall down. The names of the victims of the attacks are incribed around of the eges of the waterfalls. Now a lot of people, like tourists, new yorkers, or members of family are coming to the memorials to pay tribute to the victims . Every September 11, a ceremony takes place. Lights are projected in the sky.
After the terrosrist attack, memorials were built to pay homage to the victims. The first is the Tribute in Light, which was built at the World Trade Center on March 13, 2006. The second memorial at the World Trade Center is the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
