JIBO during the COVID-19 Pandemic:

During the pandemic, in many hospitals around the world, JIBO was an essential instrument to keep patients sane. Due to the visitor restrictions, patients were isolated for hours on end. People were not only suffering from Covid, but mental diseases that developed from the lack of human interaction. Hence, JIBO became something patients could talk to and entertain themselves with so that their hospital stay wasn't as torturous as it could have been.

Why did JIBO fail?

If JIBO is so helpful, then why isn't he everywhere?

As helpful and nice as JIBO may be, it may be too expensive for the average household income to afford. $1000 is not a cheap price for a robot, and it all went wrong for JIBO when the competition started launching robot assistants for under $100 (Alexa, Indiegogo, Echo, etc). Many other problems arised for the company when they had a series of delayed shipments that forced full refunds for unfulfilled orders, and cancelling international shipments because JIBO wouldn't work to standard if it wasn't located in the U.S. or Canada.
