Egypt is located on Northern Africa, its bordered by the Mediterranean Sea in the north and the Red Sea in the east. Lybia is in the west and Sudan occuping the south.

HIGHEST POINT

Notable lakes in Egypt include Magic Lake in Fayoum, Lake Nasser in Aswan, Lake Noeris in the Fayum basin, and more.

Mount Kātrīnā is the gighest point, standing at 8,668 feet (2,642) meters.

The longest river in Egypt is the Nile River, flowing over 6,600 kilometers, (4,100 miles) around 10 African countries in direction to the north, including Egypt.

ISLANDS

In Egypt, there is a total of aproximately 430 islands, which are relatively small. Zabargad island is the largest Island in the deep south of Egypt's Red Sea.

HISTORY

Egypt has a really long history. It's one of the oldest civilizations in the world. People settled there around 3100 BC. They built impressive structures like the pyramids, big temples and monuments. They developed a system of writing called the hieroglyphics. The were colonized by the British Empire, and they gained indepencence in 1952.

FLAG

The flag consists of three horizontal stripes: red at the top, white at the middle, and black at the bottom. Red represents the stuggle against opression, white symbolizes peace, and black signifies the end of opression.

LANGUAGE

Arabic is the main language of Egypt, but english is also spoken without any issues, mainly because of the touristic sector.

Climate

Egypt's climate is mostly desert and dry. It's hot during the day and cooler at night. Coastal areas can get very hot in summer, while the interior is extremely hot. Rain is rare, especially in the north.

In Egypt, you can find animals like camels, desert foxes, and snakes. There are also many types of birds, such as eagles and herons. In the Nile River, there are crocodiles and fish. But some animals are in danger because of human activity, like the Egyptian tortoise, the Egyptian vulutre, the Nubian ibex, and the Egyptian gazelle.

Biodiversity - Flora

In Egypt, you can find various types of plants and trees adapted to the desert environment. These include palm trees, acacia trees, tamarisk shrubs, and various types of desert grasses and herbs. Along the Nile River, there are also crops like papyrus, which was historically used for making paper. Despite the hard conditions, these plants have adapted to survive in the arid climate of Egypt.

In Egypt, people dance to celebrate their culture. One dance is called "Tanoura," where dancers spin around wearing colorful skirts. Another dance is called "Saidi," which is lively and involves sticks or canes. These dances are performed at special occasions and show the traditions of Egypt.

MUSIC

In Egypt, people love music. They use instruments like the oud and drums to make tunes. One type of music is called "Shaabi," played at parties. Another famous singer is Umm Kulthum, known for her beautiful songs. Music in Egypt is full of history and joy.

TYPICAL CLOTHES

In Egypt, people wear clothes to stay cool. Men wear long robes called "galabeyas," and women wear long dresses or skirts. Sandals are common for both.

Tourism

Tourism is important in Egypt. Many people visit to see famous landmarks like the pyramids, the Sphinx, and ancient temples. They also enjoy activities like cruising along the Nile River and diving in the Red Sea. Tourism brings in money and supports jobs for many Egyptians.

The pyramids

The pyramids in Egypt are big, ancient buildings made of stone. They were built thousands of years ago as tombs for pharaohs, who were kings of ancient Egypt. In total, there are 118 pyramids. The most famous pyramids are the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Sphinx. People from all over the world visit them to learn about ancient Egyptian history and see their amazing architecture.

Currency

The currency of Egypt is the Egyptian Pound, abbreviated as EGP. It's divided into smaller units called piastres or "irsh" in Arabic.

GOVERMENT

Egypt has a republican form of government with a President as head of state and a Prime Minister as head of government. Abdelfatah El-Sisi is the current president.

Reflection

After this research, I found Egypt as a really interesting country, with different biodiversity, gastronomy, and culture. I'm impressed with its history, having a lot of advanced technologies a long time ago. Something that shocked me, was the part that is beside the Nile River, a lot of vegetation in the middle of the dessert.
