I was 12 when I climbed my first peak, which was Uncompahgre Peak in Colorado. Then, I took about a 30-year break [laughs] ... But when I picked it back up, I started climbing 14ers, which are peaks that are above 14,000 feet. I've done 14 so far, but my goal is to solo climb the highest point in each of the 50 states. It's hard, but it's so rewarding because it's just you, your mental state and the mountain. It's about sticking to that journey for yourself.
