light pollution

Pollution caused by light emissions from artificial sources. The glow that you see in the night sky is caused by these light sources, which instead of shining down, emit light into the sky.
consequences

Energy waste. The light is directed to the sky too, when it is completely unnecessary.

Generation of polluting waste. Like carbon dioxide or radioactive substances.

Alteration of biological cycles. In animals and plants, generally birds, causing disorientation. In humans, sleep cycles are affected too.

Cultural and scientific patrimony is lost. The stars in the sky are not visible anymore.

What can we do?

04 Turn off the lights if they are not necessary, if we are not using them.

01 Illuminate only the areas that need it, always only pointing down.

03 Use motion sensors.

02 Use low-energy lamps.
