QUEEN
ELIZABETH II
Elizabeth II was the queen of the United Kingdom. Elizabeth was born on 21 April 1926 in London. Her full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. Her dad's name is Albert and her mom's name is Elizabeth, they were not King and Queen. Elizabeth's dad was the King's brother. In 1936 her uncle decided to leave Eangland and the throne to Elizabeth's father. Prince Albert became the King, with the name of George VI. Elisabeth was only 10 years old when she became the heir to the throne.
HER EDUCATION
She was educated at home by Mrs. Crawford, her governess. She also learnt to speak French very fluent. At first she had only fuor subjects: english, french, piano and dancing. Later new lessons were added to Lilibet's timetable as she grew older:
- She begane studying history and law
- She took lessons in religion from the Archbishop of Canterbury
- She starded to study German
- She studied "Royal Etiquette": the rules of the Palace and of the life as a Queen
THE WAR
During the war, most kids were sent out of London. Princess Elizabeth was just 13 years old when the war broke out. She and her sister Princess Margaret were sent to Windstor Castel. Elizabeth turned 18 in 1944 and she decided to return to London and help her country.
Elizabeth and Philip met when Elizabeth was only 13, Philip was older and served in the Navy during WWII. They exchanged letters during the war. The couple became secretly engaged in 1946, when Elizabeth was 20. They married on 20 November 1947 at Westminster Abbey.
THE CORONATION
On 2 June 1953, took place the, at Westmister Abbey, the coronation of Elizabeth II. The coronation ceremony, followed a similar pattern to the coronations before, but it has been the only British coronation to be fully televised.
Elizabeth loved pets. She has had more than thirty dogs during her long reign. She loved corgis and a real chef prepared meals for them and the queen fed them by herself
