ADHD Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders among children and normally lasts throughout adulthood. ADHD can make it more difficult to stay focused, make you very figedty and someone have difficutly with self control.

What is ADHD??

This short video gives a brief description of ADHD, treatments and additional information about the disorder.

Signs and symptoms

People with ADHD experience inattention, inability to focus and impulsivity but severeity can differ between people and the behaviors can occur more often. Some behaviors can interfere with daily functions like jobs, school and relationships.

Treatments for ADHD

People with ADHD experience inattention, inability to focus and impulsivity but severeity can differ between people and the behaviors can occur more often. Some behaviors can interfere with daily functions like jobs, school and relationships. ADHD can be taken control of with the help of treatment, while there is no cure.The treatment process can be different for everyone. Treatments consist of medication,Psychotherapy and psychosocial intervention, Some people need both treatmnet depending on severity of disorder.

Education Implications

Children who are diagnosed with ADHD may have more difficulty in school, than your average student. Children typically have a harder time being able to focus, listen and be able to put their full effort towards classwork. This can affect their grades and cause them to have problems in school.

Regularly children with ADHD begin school before their ADHD is diagnosed. It is common for teachers to first notice signs of a child with oncoming ADHD, it will be talked over with the parents and parents will determine a health care provider.
