Introduction

Welcome! Today, we are traveling back in time to the death and resurrection of Jesus.

The Last Supper: Jesus had a meal with his disciples known as the Last Supper. During this meal, he predicted that one of his disciples would betray him. The Betrayal: Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, betrayed Jesus to the religious authorities for thirty pieces of silver. The Trial: Jesus was arrested and brought before Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judaea. Despite finding no fault in Jesus, Pilate succumbed to the pressure of the crowd demanding Jesus’ crucifixion. The Crucifixion: Jesus was crucified at a place known as Golgotha, also known as “the place of the skull”. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. According to the gospels, Jesus uttered the words “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” before he died. The burial after His death: Jesus was taken down from the cross and buried in a tomb. The Resurrection: On the third day after his burial, when some women visited the tomb, they found it empty. An angel informed them that Jesus had risen from the dead. Later, Jesus appeared to his disciples and others before ascending to heaven.
