Using Technomologies in class
Students are planning, putting it into action, reviewing past notes and lessons.
Students are taking assessments on transformations of Functions
Students Final ROller Coaster Design.
Students have a better understanding of functions characteristics by seeing what it looks like using different technolies.
How much do you know?
Independent work
On this assessment students are identifying different transformation from the given equations, graphs, etc. This assessment will be used if students are reaady to go to the next step.
- Edulastic is the platform used for studentt assessment
- Students graphic organizer are used
- desmos are also used.
- 90% of the students who took the assessment are proficient.
Students in action
Students are working with their peers on designing their Rollercoaster.
Starting Point
Where is all begins...
Since most of the students in this class are my students before, this unit serves as a review of different functions and characteristics. In the classroom students were communicating with themselves and use different technologies to help them better understand families of functions and charateristics
- students understood what are the characteristics of different functions and how to solve or find them;
- Functions are represented through graphs and equations
- Students are engage. through their peers, groups, and with the teacher.
Transformations
Students are describing the transformations observed from the given equations comparing it to the parent functions. Some students are using DESMOS to help them identify the transformations.
- Graphic organizer helps students find the transformations
- DESMOS making students understand what are effects of different transformation to the parent functions.
Final Design
Here Pictures of students final design. They have presented their work in front of judges (School Admin, tribal officials and other teachers.) I was not able to post or make a video recording of their presentation because I too was amazed on how they come upo with their project and hear their awesome presentation.
Project Introduction
Design a Rollercoaster
The purpose of this Project is for students to showcase their creativity and understanding of different function families, its characteristics and transformation in creating a rollercoaster design.
- Pair Project
- Brainstorming
- Trial and error.
