Introduction

Outer Banks is a Netflix series released in 2020 consisting of 3 seasons full of adventure and excitement in North Carolina. On an island where there are poor (pogues) and rich (kooks), John B (one of the pogues) summons his 3 best friends (Kiara, JJ and Pope) to search for a legendary treasure linked to the disappearance of his father.

John B

John Booker Routledge is the main protagonist of Outer Banks. He is the charismatic leader of the Pogues crew. His father disappeared while trying to save a sunken ship, and he will stop at nothing to discover the secrets behind his disappearance. John B convinces his friends to join him on the epic search for his father and what he was looking for, taking them on a summer adventure that will change their lives.

Sarah

Sarah Elizabeth Cameron is one of the main characters in Outer Banks. Sarah is popular, rich and described as a ‘Kook Princess’. She is often looked down upon by the Pogues for her reputation, but there is more to her than meets the eye. She is insightful, kind and despite adversity, she catches John B's attention by becoming involved in an unforgettable adventure.

Kiara

Kiara Carrera, also known as “Kie”, is one of the main protagonists of Outer Banks. Kiara may look and act like a Pogue, but her family actually comes from the wealthier side of the island. However, Kiara and her family are down to earth and live a much more practical lifestyle than many of their fellow Kooks. Even though Kiara comes from the wealthier side of the island, she's still at the center of the Pogues. She is tired of the Kook lifestyle, and wants to live life more freely.

JJ

JJ is the latest in a “long line of fishermen, drinkers and revenge seekers who lived off the water.” John B describes him as the 'best surfer he knows', JJ is erratic and often doesn't think before he acts. He is aggressive and temperamental, but he is also always ready to laugh and have adventures. He is courageous and loyal to the extreme, always ready to care for and defend his friends at any time.

He's the smartest of the Pogues and has a scholarship on the line. He is constantly thinking about the possible consequences of his actions and warns the group when he feels they are about to do something stupid.
