The Behaviorist Theory
Based on the behavior conditioning experiments of Ivan Pavlov, this theory belives that even complex actions can be broken down into a stimulus-response synergy, therefore second language acquisition can be reinforced with rewards, punishments and practice.

The Innatist Theory
According to this theory, children have an innate capacity to language acquisition thanks to a biological brain structure named "Language Acquisition Device" or LAD. This Device provides the children with a Universal Grammar that allows them to interpret and acquire certain words even if they are not gramatically correct.

LEV VYGOTSKY
The Interactionist Theory
States that language proficiency is developed by face-to-face social interactions and communications. It uses cultural specific tools to create knowledge, going from small to big and caregivers provide support as children learn and develop by themselves. Some consider this theory a derivation of the Innatist
