STATUE OF LIBERTY

It is a gift from France to United States and simbolized the liberty. The statue hold in one hand the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, and in the other one a torch raised to the sky. It is made by a French sculptor with the help of Gustave Eiffel in 1879.

EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

The Empire State Building is a New York City Skyscraper, located in the Midtown, a district of Manhattan, at the crossroad of Fifth Avenue and 34th Street. It stands on 103 floors and it has a total height of 443.2 meters. The Empire State Building was the world's tallest skyscraper before the building of the Twin Towers in the World Trade Center. On April 30, 2012, One World Trade Center, also known as the "Freedom Tower", surpassed the Empire State Building by 21 feet.

National September 11 Memorial

Located at the World Trade Center in New York City, it is the place where the Twin Towers stood. Today, it is place of remembrance for all the victims of terrorist attack in 2001.

It is made up of the island of Manhattan, surrounded by Hudson, East and Harlem rivers. It also includes many small islands around it.

THE BRONX

It is located in northen of Manhattan. It is the birthplace of New York Yankees, the famous team of the Major League Baseball. It is also the home of graffiti and rap music.

The name of the Bronx comes from Jonas Bronck, the swedish settler who first arrived in 1639 in the area where lived the Lenape Native Americans.

STATEN ISLAND

It is located in southern of New York. There are more colonial-era buildings in Staten Island than all of New York. To reach this island, you can take a ferry from Manhattan or cross Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge from Brooklyn. This bridge takes its name from the Italian explorer Verrazzano.

BROOKLYN

It is the most populous of the five boroughs. In 1646, dutch settlers arrived in this area and founded Brooklyn. This name comes from the Dutch town of Breukelen in the Netherlands.

The Brooklyn borough gives the name to the bridge.

Today, Times Square hosts television and journalistic offices, such as ABC's Times Square Studios, where "Good Morning America " is done, and the newspaper's headquarter "New York Times".

It is the biggest borough in New York. It is famous because there is one of the two haedquartes of the MoMa, museum of modern and contemporary art. It is also the home of jazz. Infact, Louis Armstrong moved to this area in the middle of 20th century.
