Current Training Programme
"We are upskiling and reskilling our workforce, to meet both and current job demands and emerging jobs in the future. At the same time we're helping young people...kick-start their careers" - Jobs and Skills, Tesco PLC.
Tesco currently use digital training platforms to build the skills and knowledge of their employees. Every colleague has access to these platforms to keep their knowledge at the expected standard.
Through their training programmes, Tesco are preparing their younger employees for their next steps. This makes Tesco a very desirable company to work for as they strive to see their employees succeed.
What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality, also referred to as VR, is a simulated 3D environment that enables users to explore and interact with a virtual surrounding in a way that approximates reality. The environment is created with computer hardware and software, although users may also need to wear devices such as helmets or goggles to interact with the environment.
Using Virtual Reality for Staff Training
Virtual reality can be introduced into Tesco's training programme by creating simulated environments where employees practice real-life scenarios. The scenarios can be immersive and interactive to enhance employee learning. It would be a VR headset installed with technology that allows employees to train in a safe and protected environment. It would enable them to practice interacting with customers, stocking shelves, operating tills, whilst feeling calmer and more open to making mistakes.
