What Did God Do About Sin?

start >

Long before God created man, He thought about how we would all someday be born sinners. He knew we would not be able to come near Him because that great big sin wall would stand in the way. He also thought about that fact that all sin must be punished. You see, God loves the sinner, but He can only hate sin.

Sin

So God decided to fix that sin problem and give us a way to be with Him. Instead of everyone of us being punished, someone who was perfect, without any sin at all, had to take our place. Someone had to be punished for us.

God the Son said, “I’ll do it! I will go to earth. I will take that punishment and remove that awful sin wall.” And that was it! God’s grace plan was made.

Sin

At just the right time, God’s Son, Jesus Christ, came to earth in the body of a tiny baby. As He grew up, He never, ever sinned—never thought a bad thing, did a bad thing, or said a bad word.

When He was a grown man, He went to the cross to die for all of our sins. He died in our place—our sins were put on Him as if He had committed them.

Once He was punished for the sins of the whole world, the sin wall came tumbling down.

Sin

The wall is gone, because God sent His Son to tear it down. We now have a clear path to come to God. We have a free ticket to be in God’s family and to live with Him in heaven forever. All we have to do is decide if we want that gift or not.

Only Jesus Christ can make you good enough to live with God in heaven. You must decide if you believe that the Lord Jesus really died for you. He is alive now, making a place ready in heaven for all who believe in Him. "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." Acts 16:31
