What do you remember about when we use them?

We use the gerund:

1. As the subject at the beginning of a sentence.Smoking is bad for you.(Tobacco)

2. After all prepositions ( but not to) and after phrasal verbsHe is afraid of flying.He has given up smoking.

We use the infinitive:

1. After adjectivesHe is too tired to study.

2. to express purpose or reasonWhy do you go to the beach? To relaxI go to the beach to relax.
