GERUNDS (-ING FORM)
We use gerunds as NOUNS, so they can be the subject or the object of a sentence
* Travelling by plane is fast* Living in a foreign contry is sometimes difficult * What he really enjoys is going by bike
GERUNDS (-ING FORM)
We use gerunds after prepositions that follow nouns, verbs or adjectives
* He is good at solving problems* She is thinking of buying a new house * She's got a strange way of walking

We use gerunds when we do not want to repeat the subject because it is the same
