Origins of medusa
Medusa was a young girl who belonged to the temple of Athenea. She was very beautiful and her beauty led her to attract several admirers, some of those who considered her more beautiful than Athena.
One of these admirers was Poseidon. Medusa was seduced by Poseidon in the temple of Athena and get her pregnant. Medusa was then punished by Athena who was furious at the desecration of her temple.
The goddess transformed her hair into snakes and made those who looked at her turn to stone. Later Perseus was ordered to cut off her head and from the blood spilled by Medusa, the giant Chrysaor and the winged horse, Pegasus, were born.
