Its head is round and its snout is short, its back is dark gray, the sides light gray and the belly white.

Habitat

It lives in warm, shallow waters between 11 to 50 m, with visibility of 0.9 to 12 m and at a distance from the coast of 11 to 25 km.

FOOD

The sea cow feeds mainly on fish.

  • It is the species that is most in danger of extinction of all marine mammals in the world.
  • They were found by Norris and McFarland in 1958 from three found skeletons.
  • As they are endangered, there are only 10 sea cows left.
