The American Revolution

At the end of the 18th century Britain lost the American colonies and went to war with the French army first and with the Napoleonic armies next.Victory over Napoleon gave Britain enormous power over land and sea. The Industrial Revolution gave it an immense advantage on the markets of the world, but costs were equally great.

The main reason for the struggle between these two traditional rivals were the control of North America and India.
