1) admission de la loi
la France est sous la 3° Republique quand à l'initiative du député républicain-socialiste Aristide Briand 1802 : La religion catholique n'est plus la religion d'État mais celle de la majorité des Français. 6 décembre 1905 : Le texte est voté conforme par les sénateurs par 181 voix contre 102 9 décembre 1905 : La loi de Séparation est promulguée par le Président de la République.
2) qu'est ce que cela signifie ?
La loi de 1905 consacre les principes philosophiques des Lumières françaises. Son article I proclame : « La République assure la liberté de conscience. » les croyants comme les athées sont donc tous égaux devant la loi.
3) reaction de l'eglise
les tensions explosent durant les inventaires des biens ecclesiastiques il faudra attendre la fin des année 50 pour que la laïcité soit accepté de tous la laïcité deviendra un principe constitutionnel au debut de la V° Republique
