Why did i choose a laboratory ?

• Interested by science and microscope since i was young

• The old one was bad and in poor conditions

• 5000 employees , 70 in the laboratory

• 6 differents parts

• Anathomophathologie, RCE ,Blood collection center, hemathologie,microbiologie and biochimie

• 9 a.m to 4 p.m

consists of testing treatment with machines, checking that the machines are working properly, preparing the test tubes, verifying from the analizes that the patient is taking their treatment correctly ,finally analyzing the machines and making a diagnostic

Monday

• Anapath

• Receive organs ,palpate it and detect a problem

• Job consisting of : make the cases before microscope

Tuesday

• Blood taking center

• 3 rooms , patients come to have they blood taken

• RCE , receive the tubes (reception)

Wednesday

• Hemathologie

• Do test on the blood tubes

• Observed it under a microscope

Thursday

• Microbiologie

• Receive nails ,hair etc

• Gelose

• Make the parasite germinate

Friday

• Biochemistry

• Receive different liquid and do test on it

I found my intership very nice and i think it s something that i can do later beacause i love solve problems and be helful , working with other and using microscope . And my favorite activities was the anapath beacause is very starnge and

particular and shocking for the first time but after I got used to it and I found it fascinating

Introduction

Since I was little, I have always been interested in scientific subjects .

and more precisely by the microscope

for all these reasons I decided to do my internship in the laboratory of the la source's hospital .

What is the laboratory of the hospital ?

In the laboratory , the scientist job consist of

The Orleans hospital that we know is new because it was built in 2015 by replacing an old one that was in poor and bad condition

the laboratory is made of 200 employees, during my week of internship I could visit 6 different parts of it

During my intership week i started every day at 9 a m and i finished my day at 4 p m

On monday i went on anathomiphathologie , on tuesday in blood collection center in the morning ans in RCE in the afternoon on wednesday i went in hemathologie on thersday in microbiologie and on friday i went in biochimie .

So on Tuesday I went to the blood taking center. It's a room where patients come to have their blood taken and in the afternoon I went to the R&C. This is where scientists receive them before doing tests on them.

Task and activities

Like i told you , on monday i went in anapath . In anapath i was for 2 h

I was in a room with scientists, their job is to receive organs and palpate them and look at them in order to detect a problem

in the afternoon I was with a person who makes the cases which can then be observed under a microscope

on Wednesday I went to hematology. In this place the scientists receive the snag tests and do tests on them with other liquids then observe them under the microscope

Thursday I went to microbiology. At this place the scientists receive nails, hair etc. and place them in a gelose, an agar is a box with a strange material which makes the parasites germinate, they are there to know if the patient is sick

Friday I went to biochemistry, at this place the scientists receive urine and other things and do tests on it
