LESSON PLAN

GRADE: 5th Year Primary Education. GROUP: 24 students, 10-11 years old. WORK TEAMS: Four students per team.

SUBJECTS: Natural science and English.

LESSON: #5 TOPIC: Plants.

AIMS

• Learn come new vocabulary about plants and nature.
• Know the typical plants of my country.
• Use ICTs responsably and efficiently.

PROCEDURES

• Creat a mind map with the suggested application.
• Look for information about plants either on the Internet or in the textbooks.
• Describe characteristics of the selected plants.

MATERIALS NEEDED

• Electronic blackboard.
• Textbooks and tablets with internet connection.

STRUCTURE/ACTIVITIES/TIMINGS

• Warm up activity: Watching youtube video (4 min)
• Listening: Explanation of the activity by teacher and presentation of some examples (6 min)
• Writing activity: Search information and create a mind map (25 min)
• Speaking activity: Show the selected plants with thier characterictics to the rest of the class (15 min)

Extra activity: Look for typical plants from other counties and explain their characteristics.

• You have to complete four cards about four different plants of the flora in our country. The cards have to include the following data: Scientific name: Common Name: Two characteristics. Where does the plant live?
