We are going to use CAN and COULD to make polite requests. They both have the same use, but Can is less polite than Could.
STRUCTURE:
Requests using 'can':
CAN + SUBJECT + VERB
Can you pass me the salt? Can you open the door for me?
Requests using 'could':
COULD + SUBJECT + VERB
Could you please let me your coat? Could you turn off the A/C, please?
