"My friend who loves pizza is coming over tonight."(Explanation: The relative clause "who loves pizza" defines which friend is coming over.) "The dog that barks loudly keeps waking up the neighbors." (Explanation: The relative clause "that barks loudly" specifies which dog is causing the disturbance.)

NON DEFINING RELATIVE CLAUSES

"My sister, who is always late, missed the bus again." (Explanation: The relative clause "who is always late" adds extra information about the sister but doesn't change the meaning of the main sentence.)
