present perfect SIMPLE VS PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS

✪ We only use the present perfect continuous to talk about actions that started in the past and continue to the present. ✰ Our neighbours have been living here for ten years now (and they still live here). ✪ The most common expressions used with the present perfect continuous are: ✰ For (+ a period of time) ✰ Since (+ a specific date) ✰ Just

✪ A life experience without specifying when ✰ I have been to London twice. ✪ A finished action with a result in the present (that it is still true). ✰ They have missed the bus (so they will be late). ✪ An event with an unfinished time – word. ✰ They’ve been shopping twice this month (‘this month’ is an unfinished time - word because the month hasn’t finished yet). ✪ The most common expressions we can find with the present perfect: ✰ For (+ a period of time) ✰ Since (+ a date) ✰ Just, already (affirmative), yet (negative and interrogative) ✰ Ever (interrogative), never ✰ It’s the first time (+ S + V)

Watch out IRREGULAR VERBS! For these verbs, you need to use the PAST PARTICIPLE FORM, which is, the THIRD COLUMN (3) OF YOUR LIST.
