The currency of the Bahamas is the Bahamian dollar (BSD). It has been the official currency since 1966 when it replaced the Bahamian pound. The exchange rate is fixed at 1 Bahamian dollar to 1 US dollar, and the currency is abbreviated as B$ to differentiate it from other countries' dollars. The exchange rate between the Bahamian dollar and the euro can change over time. Currently, 1 euro is approximately equal to 1.09 Bahamian dollars.
