Machu Picchu is created by geological faults and fractures. The faults are called: Ingemmet, Tambomachay and Pachatusan.

They can create large earthquakes, which undoubtedly affect the development of society.

The process of mountain formation is known as 'orogenesis'. In Machu Picchu there are MANY earthquakes. That is why when rocks 'explode' depressions are formed.

Machu Picchu is formed by Tectonic Plates and also by erosion (gravity)
