Soluções Ácidas,Básicas e Neutras

Uma grande parte das reações químicas ocorre em solução aquosa que, dependendo das suas propriedades, podem apresentar carácter ácido, básico (alcalino) ou neutro. O carácter químico de uma solução pode ser identificado utilizando indicadores colorimétricos, que são substâncias que mudam de cor em função do carácter químico da solução em que se encontram, ou mediante a utilização de medidores de pH, usando a escala de Sorensen (ou escala de pH), compreendida entre 0 e 14 (para uma temperatura de 25 °C ). Quanto menor for o pH, mais ácida (e menos básica) é a solução.
