• Âm là dao động của các phần tử trong môi trường đàn hồi

• Truyền đi theo loại sóng dọc ( 16Hz - 20kHz)
• Nguồn phát âm thông thường là các vật thực hiện dao động

SÓNG ÂM

• Trong môi trường rắn - lỏng - khí, sóng âm là những sóng cơ lan truyền được.
• Môi trường lỏng - khí, sóng âm tồn tại dưới dạng sóng dọc.
• Môi trường rắn, sóng âm tồn tại dưới dạng sóng ngang.

• Hạ âm ( nhỏ hơn 16Hz)

• Siêu âm ( lớn hơn 20000Hz)

• Âm sắc: là đặc trưng của âm giúp ta phân biệt được các âm phát ra từ các nguồn khác nhau.

SÓNG SIÊU ÂM

Khi siêu âm, các tinh thể bên trong đầu dò phát ra các sóng siêu âm truyền vào bên trong cơ thể.

Các mô, xương và chất lỏng trong cơ thể một phần hấp thụ hoặc truyền qua - một phần phản xạ lại sóng âm và quay ngược trở lại đầu dò.
