CREDIT CALCULATOR
Sometimes we need to apply a credit to a customers account. This could be, for example, due to their live date being later than agreed (more than 20 days) or a backdate in a tariff that cannot be applied from the date required
Click the icons to get some handy tips on how to use our Credit Calculator to work out credits
This part is pretty self explanatory As it states in red, you want to focus on the "Subtotal Due" as this is the figure you will enter when raising your credit on AIS The figures below are what the customer will receive if they are credited back at wither 5% or 20% VAT
OoC Rate - you need to enter the incorrect standing charge and rate(s) here. Depending on why we are working out a credit, this can be found on the account under "Tariffs/Charges" or on any previous supplier invoices/supporting evidence the customer has sent you
Correct Rate - you need to enter the new standing charge and rate(s) that we will be charging the customer here. These again can be found under "tariffs/Charges" on the account, or DESM
Difference - the difference between both the incorrect and correct rates
This part works slightly different for Gas and Eelectric accounts
Start Date/End Date - these are the dates that you want the credit to be in effect for. Ensure you are using the correct format as seen above dd/mm/yyy Electric - Take the reads from the "Open Reads" page and enter reads from both dates. If the meter has more than one rate, use "Read 2," "Read3" etc Gas - Start read is always zero and end read is the amount of units used in total during the period of time you are planning on crediting for. The same rule would apply for electric half hourly meters too As you can see here, the customer has used 3280 units in 124 days
