SOLAR ECLIPSE
If the moon is between the sun and the earth, the shadow of the moon falls on the earth. At such a time these three celestial objects are on the same plane and fall in one line. Hence the place on the earth where the moon’s shadow falls, experiences a solar eclipse. Solar eclipse are of 2 typesTotal solar eclipse and partial solar eclipse.learn more about solar eclipse from the link given below.
https://www.space.com/15584-solar-eclipses.html
A total solar eclipse happens when the moon passes directly between the sun and Earth, completely obscuring the sun's light and casting a shadow on the Earth's surface.
A partial solar eclipse occurs when the moon partially covers the sun from the perspective of an observer on Earth, resulting in a portion of the sun being obscured by the moon's shadow.
ECLIPSEThe total or partial obscuring of one celestial body by another are called elipses. Eclipses are majorly of two types, solar eclipse and lunar eclipse.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon enters the shadow of the earth, while revolving around it. At this time, it is necessary that the earth is between the sun and the moon, and all three of them are in the same plane. There are two types of lunar eclipsetotal lunar eclipse and partial lunar eclipseread more about lunar eclipse from the given link.
LUNAR ECLIPSE
https://science.nasa.gov/moon/eclipses/
A partial lunar eclipse happens when only a portion of the Moon passes through the Earth's umbral shadow, resulting in a partial darkening of the lunar surface.
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the lunar surface, resulting in a striking reddish hue known as a "blood moon."
PHASES OF THE MOON
We see the phases of the moon in the sky from the earth. They are the illuminated portions of the moon. They become visible due to the sunlight reflected from the moon. The image shows the relative position of the moon on both the quarters, the full moon and the new moon days with respect to the earth and the sun. the moon's rotation and revolution around the earth and then indirectly around the sun are the resons for occurance of eclypses.
