Plant a tree

Trees take in carbon dioxide (CO2) release oxygen by way of photosynthesis, and store carbon in their trunks. Travelling increases your carbon footprint. So, plant a tree to reduce this impact. Click here to calculate your travel carbon footprint.

In Portugal we use a box to collect used (empty/old) markers. Some of these markers can be refilled and reused up to 15 times, extending their useful life.

Separate the garbage...

Local food

• Choose locally-grown produce. • When travelling try local products, find new flavours that will give you great memories.

Reuse...

• the sheets of paper as scratch paper to write the music lyrics or the play text. • water bottles (and recycle them too!)• clothes, household linen, decorative objects, kitchen equipment or anything else that could be used in the play or converted into a musical instrument.

Share...

• Share props and costumes used in the play; if you make a list and spread it around, it will be easier for this to happen. • Perhaps you, your family, friends or school can lend some objects or clothes for the play. These will then be returned to their owners. • Contact theatre and music companies or schools. They may have useful resources.

Choose wisely...

Buy products with the least amount of packaging possible (buy in bulk or in big boxes rather than in individually wrapped containers).

Transportation...

• Walk or ride your bike to school. • Carpool when where you are going is too far to walk. • Take public transportation.• Choose electric mobility.
