Mastering Quotations in Writing

Exclamation and Question Marks: When the direct quote is asking a question or making an exclaimation, these punctuation marks go inside the quotes.

Quotation Marks: Put all direct quotations in quotaiton marks. A direct quotation is when you use another writer's or speaker's exact words.

Periods and Commas: Keep periods and commas inside the quotation marks.
