Alexa Arming/Disarming Commands Are Not Working

Confirm that the customer is a Cove Connect customer and not a Cove Simple as Alexa and Google Home features are only compatible with the new generation of equipment.

Check a few things with the customer:

Unlink the Skill and then Relink it.

Ensure that the customer's Alexa account has the Alula Security Skill enabled and connected. To confirm this, have the customer go to their Skills & Games and have them search for the Alula Security skill.

With the customer on the skill page have them click "Launch."

Check that the Cove Connect Hub is online with an acceptable signal strength.

Have the customer arm their system from their Cove Connect app. This will test if the panel is receiving arming commands.

Alexa is not Understanding Commands

Alexa requires specific wording and phrasing to understand the commands.

"Disarm"

"Arm Away"

“Arm Stay"

After it responds by asking what you would like to do, you can then respond with:

Open Cove Security: This is requesting Alexa to Open up the Cove Security Skill.

“Alexa”: gets the attention of the Alexa device.

Alexa requires specific wording and phrasing to understand the commands. These are very word-specific and all of them follow a pattern. This is what it looks like:

Ask Alexa what she just heard. You can say "Alexa, tell me what you heard" to find out what it thought you said.

Alexa is not understanding commands

"Alexa, Open Cove Security"
