I am Rackel Gill. Born in Jacksonville, Florida. I work with mixed media. I use bright and vivid colors to make art that expresses thoughts, feelings, and emotion.

By: Rackel Gill(2024)

A new resident to Valdosta, originally from Columbus, Ga, he strives to create art where the colors bring joy to the youth. Starting out as a sketch artist, Kweisi learned to paint at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, from where he graduated. His painting professor, Christine Cannon, pushed him to understand the joys of painting, while learning techniques that would later help to craft his skills. Helping him with his studies, and later making Dean's List whilst being homeless. With his background in graphic design had helped with designing both event posters and clothing designs. He currently attends Valdosta State University with hopes to get a bachelor in art, interior design, and again for Secondary Education.

Worms on a Canvas

By: Kweisi Daniels(2024)

A self-taught Mexican artist majoring in Psychology, aspires to capture the essence of her everyday life and the world around her. With her foundation built only on high school art classes and self-teaching, Alexandra's journey as an artist is a testament to both passion and dedication. Drawing from her Mexican background and personal experiences, Alexandra's artworks serve as a medium for self-expression and healing, delving into the intricate arrangement of human emotion and existence. Her vision extends beyond the canvas as she pursues to integrate art therapy into her future career as a child psychologist, utilizing creativity as a tool for diagnosis and emotional growth. Through her captivating compositions, Alexandra invites viewers to delve into a world where every stroke carries profound meaning, giving insight into the beauty of life's complexities from her eyes. In her works, such as Hindsight and Epiphany, Alexandra explores profound themes of suffering, realization, and the delicate balance of sanity and madness. Hindsight dives into the depths of human suffering. This work emphasizes the eye as a universal pathway to the soul and can lead to a true connection with an individual. Meanwhile, Epiphany captures the acute moment of realization or enlightenment, foreshadowing the gradual shifts toward insanity. Yet, the figure's eye is captivating and leads to numerous questions about why they shine brightly. By depicting the essence of human suffering, Alexandra challenges the viewers to confront the human mind's complexities and metaphorically portrays the eye as a window to the soul and a key to connecting with an individual.

Refleting on Nature

by: Susan Rita Wehling(2022)

Susan Wehling grew up in Cincinnati and later took a few art classes at Arizona State University. She then took a 30-year hiatus while raising 4 children and teaching Spanish at Valdosta State University. She returned to art after her 50th birthday and has been pursuing an art degree slowly, balancing work, passion and life. Her life experience, Peace Corps -Ecuador, Palestinian family, passion for the earth and faith have all influenced her work. She uses a variety of materials (she especially loves using recycled materials) and paints with oils, charcoal, wax and watercolors. Most recently she has fallen in love with spray paint. All my relations is a theme that is recurrent in her works.
