This year we did our internship in a museum called José Malhoa Museum located at the Parque D. Carlos I in Caldas da Rainha. This museum presents a diverse collection of paintings and sculptures, and is considered the museum of Portuguese naturalism.

Our Internship

Our First Day

On our first day of internship, we visit the museum and met the team. They shared their knowledge about the history of the museum and provided us with the opportunity to read a bit about it.

Some tasks we did

Throughout this internship we collaborated with the team and performed some tasks such as archiving and registering newspapers in the museum library, creating large size cardboard folders to archive posters and help in the organization of events.

We had a positive working relationship with our boss and co-workers. They were always willing to help and teach us new things to improve our knowledge and skills.

Our relationship with the team

We had the opportunity to learn several things throughout this internship such as the history of the José Malhoa Museum and the Ceramics Museum, the life of José Malhoa as well as the history of Caldas da Rainha and the city itself in addition we could see how a museum works and all its procedures and especially the events organized and held at the Malhoa Museum.

What we learned

Difficulties we felt

The difficulty felt throughout this stage is based on the lack of events held by the entity, and the lack of a deeper participation in the organization of events.

This curricular internship provided a new perspective for the world of work and events beyond the work done in museums. We could develop our knowledge, learn about new places and people, and generate new learning.

Our experience

Congratulations!
