What is plastic??
Plastics is a material of natural or synthetic origin, obtained from petroleum derivatives, plastic is good for some daily activities, but it can't decompose. see the next slideš
How to reduce the problems caused by plastic?
Reuse and recycling are fundamental processes to ensure that the problems caused by plastics in nature do not grow further. Reusing a product means giving a new use to an already used item, thus avoiding a new manufacturing process for that product. Thus increasing the useful life of materials by producing with fewer resources.Let's now learn about some different plasticsš.
What are the environmental impacts caused by plastic?
There are countless impacts caused by plastic on the environment. Every year, 8 million tons of plastic are discarded into the oceans, unbalancing the ecosystem and harming the lives of marine animals. A study by the World Wide Fund for Nature shows that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish, if the problem is not addressed. will be resolved in the coming years. Plastic pollution still affects the quality of air, soil and water supply systems, since incorrect disposal in nature pollutes aquifers and reservoirs.
PET
It is found in packaging and bottles for food and/or hospital use, cosmetics, microwave trays and other products. Widely used because it is transparent, unbreakable, waterproof and very light. You've probably already used these bottles at family lunch or being served in restaurantsš¤¤.
PP
Polypropylene or PP is a thermoplastic polymer produced from the polymerization of propylene or propylene gas.It is a type of plastic that can be molded when subjected to high temperatures, which is why it is classified as a thermoplastic.
PVC
Known by the name PVC, it is a plastic with unique properties that arises from the polymerization of chloroethylene monomerš
PEAD
is a rigid and resistant plastic, highly used in the food industry, as it is a material that complies with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration)š¤©
PEBD
PEBD plastic film, in general, consists of a technical film made and produced from low-density polyethylene.
PS
This polymerization takes place by heating a suspension in water and using peroxides to start the reaction. It is a hard, amorphous and transparent thermoplastic resin polymerized through styreneš¤
